About the Nursery
Coulsdon Nursery is a sixty-four place local authority school within the London Borough of Croydon. We offer education and care for children of three and four years old.
At Coulsdon Nursery, we strive to offer a rich and well-balanced curriculum, delivered by a very dedicated and effective staff team. We are proud to be outstanding in all areas (Ofsted March 2013). We believe that is because we genuinely care for the welfare and education of every child.
We aim to develop a strong partnership between home and school, so enabling us to work together to provide the best for our children during their early years.

About the Nursery
The present building was opened in 1936 and celebrated it’s Golden Jubilee in 1986. Originally the school was a Day Nursery, but changed to a Nursery School in 1946, and came under the authority of the London Borough of Croydon in 1964.
Coulsdon Nursery School caters for children from three to four years. Most children in Croydon transfer to Primary School before they are five.
There are places for sixty-four children, and the school currently provides 15 hours of free nursery education per week. Currently taken as 5 mornings or 5 afternoons. These sessions are government funded and may be subject to change.
As from September 2010 session times are as follows:
- Morning Session 8:30-11:30 a.m
- Lunch Club 11:30-12:30 p.m
- Afternoon Session 12:30-3:30 p.m
In addition to your child’s allocated 5 x a.m or p.m government funded sessions you can also apply for extra sessions which are chargeable, these are as follows:
These sessions are chargeable and can be taken as 1-5x mornings or 1-5 x afternoon units of 3 hours. Places need to be booked in advance.
This facility is available daily from 11:30-12:30pm and club sessions are chargeable. Places need to be booked in advance and a packed lunch brought in from home. (We do not offer any catering facilities.
